The Belgian experts have shared their interoperability-related experience with their counterparts from Moldova

On April 27 to 28, the Federal Public Service for Information and Communication Technology (FEDICT) from Belgium shared the experience gained during the Interoperability Framework process with the government agencies that are piloting it in the Republic of Moldova.
The Belgian colleagues explained the peculiarities of the mechanism enabling different institutions to communicate and exchange data between them, as well as the procedures and the integration process to the data providers and consumers. They spoke also about the role played by the “circle of trust” (group of organizations that have shared the responsibilities of the involved actors) within the interoperability implementation process.
The Belgian data exchange process was based on five main components, namely: efficiency, speed, transparency, optimization of each service cost and citizen focused approach.
During the event were also presented several mechanisms that allow developing new online services according to the taxonomy adopted by the European Union.
Having an experience of more than 10 years, FEDICT is now responsible for defining and implementing the e-government and technological modernization strategy in Belgium. It uses several innovative Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) while assisting the federal institutions to improve their service portfolios and adapt them to the requirements of citizens, businesses, and public officials. For example, FEDICT is involved into the electronic ID card (eID) software design and development process.
