Young journalists learn how to value Open Data

Young journalists from Republic of Moldova participate, during November 22nd - 23rd, at a seminar on data journalism. The journalists learn how to extract , analyze and present relevant data from studies and reports so that their materials have a greater impact on society.
The 30 participants in the workshop will learn about data scraping and cleaning tools , instruments for analysis and visualization of public data , which can contribute to extracting and presenting data history .
In the era of data multitude, the growing importance of this kind of journalism lies in the practitioners’ ability to provide context and clarity on the background of digital content expansion. It is extremely important that journalists include data analysis in their materials , providing useful information to citizens and authorities representatives.
The seminar is organized by the United Nations Development Program and the Center for Electronic Governance, in partnership with the National Youth Council of Moldova , MediaPoint, Young Journalist Center of Moldova and the Centre for Independent Journalism.
