The World Bank Country Manager for Moldova, Anna Akhalkatsi: "Moldova is one of the pioneers in the region in its governance e-transformation efforts"

In the week dedicated to the partnerships of the Electronic Governance Agency (EGA), as part of the communication campaign "10 years of e-governance in the Republic of Moldova", its lead partner, the World Bank (WB), represented by the Country Manager for Moldova, Anna Akhalkatsi, touched upon the close cooperation between institutions, which also reached its 10th anniversary.
In an interview for the Infotag News Agency, Anna Akhalkatsi mentioned the importance of creating an institutional, strategic, legislative and technological framework in an enabling environment that would allow for further development. "Indeed, Moldova was one of the pioneers in the region on its Governance e-Transformation efforts. Many countries are now starting to think about the problems that Moldova started to address 10 years ago", Anna Akhalkatsi pointed out.
Also, the World Bank Country Manager for Moldova mentioned about the projects implemented jointly with the EGA, such as: Public Services Portal, Open Government Data Portal, MCloud, MPay, MSign, MPass, MConnect, which currently offer wide opportunities to both individuals, as well as legal entities in the relationships with the Government.
In the interview, Anna Akhalkatsi also spoke about those over 80 services that are being modernized, such as: social assistance services, business regulation, civil status documentation, etc., as well as projects that include the development of cooperation with the local authorities. In this context, the WB Country Manager for Moldova mentioned the importance of the vector in the projects to be developed – full electronic accessibility for all citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
The interview is part of a series of events dedicated to the 10 years of activity of the Electronic Governance Agency. The anniversary campaign started on 10 October 2020 and will last 10 weeks, during which the most interesting topics and services aimed at optimizing the citizens' relations with government institutions will be presented and addressed.
