To celebrate the first decade since the founding of the institution and the 10 years of e-Governance in Moldova, the e-Governance Agency awarded a number of entities, public and private organizations, both local and international, experts and active promoters of governance through technology. The awards were granted for excellence in supporting digital democracy, performance in the development and application of efficient electronic solutions and a substantial contribution to accelerating the digitization of public services in the Republic of Moldova.

During the Excellence Awards Gala, organized for the first time at the end of this year, EGA mentioned the most valuable partners and allies of e-Governance who had an undisputed contribution to the development of the sector, institutions that kept up with digital innovations and made extensive use of information technologies in their daily activities. These institutions include the National Social Insurance Office, Public Services Agency, Chisinau City Hall, top providers of electronic public services, public reference entities in the use of information and communication technologies aimed at providing high quality services to citizens.

The list of award winners also includes the State Chancellery of the Republic of Moldova, the founder of e-Governance Agency, as well as the head of the Government, Ion Chicu, who is an active and continuous promoter of e-Governance transformation process.

The e-Governance Agency granted Excellence Awards to partner institutions that contribute with valuable expertise and provide consultancy in the development and management of technological systems in public administration and play the role of important strategic partners. These institutions include the World Bank Office of Moldova, which received the award for its constant support, the Information Technology and Cyber Security Service, the Technical University of Moldova and the QSistems Company.

The EGA trophy was also awarded to Stela Mocan, the first Director of the e-Governance Centre, and Victor Guzun, former Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Estonia, two great supporters and promoters of e-governance, who helped create the conditions for improving the act of governance and generating fundamental transformations in the way the government, the citizens and businesses operate and interact with each other.

The director of e-Governance Agency, Iurie Țurcanu, noted: “We are firmly convinced that the development of sustainable partnerships, which the e-Governance Agency established and made best use of with the institutions interested in transformation, modernization, automation and streamlining of all government processes is one of our greatest successes. I am referring here to the concluded memoranda, the signed agreements, and the fruitful collaboration with the public and private organizations of national or international level, which have become the friends of e-Governance”.

The winners were honoured by these distinctions and congratulated the EGA team, underlining the need to strengthen and further develop partnerships between institutions that have innovative potential in e-governance.

The festive ceremony of awarding the laureates of the EGA Excellence Awards was organized at the end of 2020, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the founding of the e-Governance authority, the e-Governance Agency.
