General News

During this week, 10-13 April 2018, the State Chancellery jointly with e-Government Center conducted working visits to the central public authorities responsible for the publication and ensure the access to open data.

The prior institutions were selected based on the preliminary results of two public opinion polls released among media representatives and public. Preliminary data showed us that both journalists and citizens are concerned priority of opening data in such areas as: finance and procurement, education, energy, economy and trade, food safety, transport, health and social protection. Thus, throughout this week we met with Secretaries of State and representatives of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Culture and Research and the Ministry of the Economy and Infrastructure, as well as subordinated institutions.

Institutions has been informed about the need to review the content and name of the published data, because of the central public administration reform implementation and updating data sets on Government web portal date.gov.md based on recommendations made by respondents participating in the survey.

Similar visits are planned for next week, April 17-20, at the other central authorities and subordinated institutions.

The information pilgrimage to central public authorities is part of the information campaign aiming to promote and ensure access to open data.
