The Electronic Government Center presents the TOP of open datasets that deserve to be viewed by civil society, business environment and civil servants, which may serve as a source of information on their current activities.

Through open public data, the governance becomes more transparent, the citizens can directly and actively participate to improve it and also participate to the decision-making process.

The TOP includes but is not limited to public data catalog, which enables viewing the way central authorities open the datasets. For a rapid identification of data of interest, the datasets published by ministries can be sorted and filtered with the new system of organizing information. This TOP also includes data on budget execution; regarding state enterprises; data on the development of broadband Internet access services in the administrative-territorial units of the Republic of Moldova, that could be interesting for business environment; criminal justice data regarding the day and the time of the crime committed in the Chisinau municipality and the list of economic agents in the tourism industry.

On date.gov.md open data platform have been opened so far 541 datasets by 35 central public authorities. Only in the last two months, November and December there have been opened 87 new datasets. Date.gov.md platform is a key pillar for the Technological modernization agenda of the governance (e-Transformation) and aims to facilitate citizens’ access to ministries and central public administration data.
