Security of services – the Government’s priority

In October 2013, the Center for Electronic Governance (EGC) organized "The cyber security month in the government". The event was synchronized with "The European Cyber Security Month" and was aimed towards securying online services, both for citizens and for business. CGE develops dedicated cybersecurity activities for the second consecutive year. In 2012, the Cyber Security Week was organized. This year, the series of activities dedicated to civil servants, citizens, business, civil society representatives and the media were developed during a month .
One of the most important events within the "Cyber Security Month in the Government" was the high-level international Forum on digital security „Successful transformations in the digital world". The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister Iurie Leancă, the Estonian President Toomas Hendrik Ilves, ministers, civil servants, civil society representatives. Another important event during this period was the international conference "Cyber security in Moldova: challenges, trends and trust-building measures", organized by the Government’s Centre for Cyber Security (CERT). The event was attended by experts in information security of the European Union and NATO, IT professionals in the country, civil servants. Detailed news can be read here.
Within the „Cyber Security Month in the Government", the Draft Cyber Security in Government Roadmap in Republic of Moldova (2013-2015) was presented, a document that will form the basis of a strategy or program for cyber security in the country and that will be presented in mid-December, this year. A team of specialists from Moldova’s State Chancellery and the Center for Electronic Governance, in partnership with the e-Governance Academy in Estonia, is involved in the process of the program’s elaboration.
Public officials, civil society representatives and IT professionals have brought into discussion, within the "Cyber security and the security of personal data" round table, the matter of personal data security in Republic of Moldova and ensuring their protection. Read the news here.
Within the events dedicated to the „Cyber Security Month in the Government", valuable know-how in cyber security was shared and cyber attacks were simulated.
Republic of Moldova is one of the most important partners in Central and Eastern Europe that joined the EU joint effort to ensure information security, along with countries such as Germany, Estonia, France, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
