20 December 2013. The results of implementation of the MPay electronic payment service were presented at the meeting of the National Payments Council (NPC).

NPC is a professional forum for high-level consultation on safe operation of the payment system in Moldova and was created by the National Bank of Moldova.

The e-Government Center is one of the NPC partners. Other NPC partners are: the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications, the Banking Association and the Moldovan licensed banks.

The MPay electronic payment service was launched in September and is an information tool that enables payment services through multiple payment methods such as credit cards, payment terminals, e-banking systems and cash payments.

The MPay service is implemented by the Government through the e-Government Center, the Centre for Special Telecommunications, the Ministry of Finance, in partnership with the National Bank of Moldova and the private banking sector.
