Republic of Moldova honored with the Excellence Award for promoting the Open Governance

The efforts made by the government of Chisinau with a view to promoting Open Governance were honored with an Excellence Award by the „Transparency International Ukraine” and the „Open Government Partnership in Eastern Partnership Countries and Russia".
Republic of Moldova has joined the Open Government Partnership (OGP) initiative in April 2012 within the first annual meeting of the Open Government Partnership which took place in Brazil. The Open Government Partnership is a multilateral initiative driven by several world countries seeking for a transparent, efficient and open to citizens’ governance, developed on the basis of the new information technologies.
Moldova's participation to this partnership resulted in a series of steps aimed at improving governance through its integration with the modern technologies.
Thus, within the “Free access to public government data initiative”, the date.gov.md has been created. Republic of Moldova is the 16th country in the world which has joined the „Open data” initiative, providing over 746 datasets opened by 40 institutions via the date.gov.md portal.
The access to public data made it possible to develop several public utility applications such as www.alerte.md, www.afla.md, www.formulare.md and www.BudgetStories.md.
By creating the public services’ portal www.servicii.gov.md, 403 services and 91 electronic services, aimed to maximize the government act efficiency by making the system more transparent and less bureaucratic, have been made available to the citizens.
