On January 26 and 27, at the invitation of the Ministry for Information Society (MIS), the representatives of the Center for Electronic Governance from the Republic of Moldova had a several meetings in Bucharest with the competent authorities of Romania (representatives of MIS, Ministry of Public Finance, National Agency for Fiscal Administration (NAFA), Romanian Agency for the Digital Agenda). The meetings represented an experience exchange and gave the opportunity for the participants to identify the common interests and projects in the e-Governance field.

“Republic of Moldova is open to cooperate with its partners from Romania on the e-Governance segment. Thus, we will be able to move forward together towards an efficient digitally transformed public sector and implement the EU 2020 Digital Agenda Pan-European targets” said the Director of the Center for Electronic Governance from the Republic of Moldova, Stela Mocan.

“We are currently working on the completion of a list of projects and common interests we want to carry out within this promising cooperative relationship. I believe it will be a very successful partnership and that together we will be able to achieve extremely positive and tangible results for both countries: for Moldova, in terms of its EU pre-accession, and for Romania, in terms of the implementation of some e-Government tested models. We consider the implementation of some regional joint projects as well. These initiatives are strongly encouraged by the European Union as they are fostering a greater competitiveness in the European area”, the Romanian Minister for Information Society, Sorin Grindeanu, added.

In June 2011, the Romanian Government signed with the Republic of Moldova a Memorandum of Understanding on communications and information technology. Also in September 2013, signed a cooperation protocol with the relevant ministry of the Republic of Moldova, which reinforces the good bilateral relations and cooperation in this field.
