The Open Government Partnership Calls for Participation in the Co-creation of Open Government Reforms

The Open Government Partnership (OGP) is launching a pilot program designed to foster a more active participation of local governments in open government reforms. The OGP invites key players in the 69 partner countries, including the Republic of Moldova, to implement concrete actions towards promoting transparency, fighting corruption and using new technologies to strengthen governance. The selected participants will contribute to mutual learning and will build networks with other local governments.
Program aims to:
· Identify the best ways and structures to allow the OGP to support local authorities, so that the latter become more open, accountable and responsive to the needs of citizens
· Provide an opportunity for local governments to learn through experience exchange
· Expand and improve the participation of civil society organizations in the OGP
To participate in the program, please send a motivation letter to the OGP Steering Committee by February 29, 2016. The letter should be signed by the political leader of the authority you represent. If your institution is chosen, you will work with OGP Support on a timeframe for development and implementation of commitments. More details about the program and the selection criteria can be found here.
The Open Government Partnership (OGP) was launched in 2011 and since then has worked with 69 partners to develop more than 100 action plans with more than 2,500 commitments for open government reforms. Moldova joined the Open Government Partnership in 2011 and since then has implemented two action plans as part of this platform.
