The objectives of the e-Governance Agency (EGA) include both the digitization of public services and the facilitation of citizens' access to electronic services. To achieve these objectives, a new pilot project was launched - the Unified Service Provision Centres (CUPS). The benefits and the opportunities provided by the new project have been discussed today, 15 December 2020, during a new LIVE session with the e-Governance Agency, at the workshop entitled "Unified Service Provision Centres - opportunities and benefits", attended by representatives of local public administration authorities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova.

Vlad Manoil, head of EGA’s Services and Platforms Department, explained that the idea of establishing centres to help consumers access electronic services more easily emerged several years ago, and was now materialized through the launch of the first Unified Service Provision Centres. "This project is designed to amplify and expand the mission of the program aimed at modernizing and improving the quality of public services," Vlad Manoil said.

Tatiana Sincovschi, Project Manager at EGA, presented the concept of CUPS, adding that the objectives and the expected outcome of the project are to provide the residents of rural areas and our co-nationals living abroad with the support they need in order to benefit from electronic public services offered through digital platforms.

To ensure the functionality of the centres in the 17 LPA I and 5 diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad, participating in the pilot project, their offices will be provided with the necessary equipment and information materials so that citizens have the opportunity to get acquainted with public services.

The workshop participants exchanged views on the functionality of prospective Unified Service Provision Centres.

Constantin Rusu, public administration specialist at the World Bank Group in Moldova, talked about the importance of the CUPS project in the context of the priorities established in order to ensure the accessibility of services for the rural population. Eugeniu Revenco, Secretary General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration referred to the benefits provided by the project to citizens in the diaspora. In addition, Vasile Casian, Mayor of Sculeni commune, Ungheni district and Natalia Bostan, Accountant, Ciorescu commune, Chisinau municipality shared their experience in the provision of public services through electronic platforms.

The event was part of the series of activities dedicated to the 10 years of activity of the e-Governance Agency, during which the public was informed about the opportunities provided by online public platforms and services.
