Mutual recognition of qualified electronic signatures between Moldova and the European Union is possible

The mutual legal recognition of qualified electronic signatures for non- European Union countries and public sector digitization, were the key topics addressed by the E-Governance Agency experts, representatives of the Security and Intelligence Service of The Republic of Moldova together with World Bank experts and European officials: Mr. Adrian Dusa, Deputy Head of Unit, Directorate-General for Informatics, European Commission and Mr. Frank Leyman Manager International Relations, Digital Transformation Office, Belgium.

The exchange of best practices is part of the activities organized in the framework of the European officials visit in the Republic of Moldova, the key event being public dialog on data exchange and interoperability.

During the discussions, participants referred to the set of European standards for electronic identification supported by the EU Regulation that sets out rules for electronic identification and trust services, called eDIAS. 

eIDAS facilitate the citizens, business and public authorizes mobility. Likewise, the implementation of the regulation will increase the online services efficiency delivered by both public and private sectors, economic activities and electronic commerce.
