The Moldovan Government employs CLOUD COMPUTING technology

The Government has signed the purchasing contract for the shared technology platform, M-CLOUD, phase one, based on CLOUD COMPUTING. Next, the administration will develop a shared technological platform for all central public administration entities, which will reduce costs and increase the efficiency of internal processes.
The technical infrastructure will be implemented in two phases. The first phase will be functional starting October 2012.
“The implementation of the shares technology platform based on CLOUD technology represents the technical ground for the electronic public services which will be digitized by the Government until 2020. M-CLOUD will host the informational systems, which are the base for public services, in a secure manner. Operational costs will be reduced, while reliability will be increased”, stated Iurie Țurcanu, Chief Technological Officer, Technology Deputy Manager, e-Government Center.
The Republic of Moldova is among the first states in the world, together with the U.S., Australia and Great Britain, to use Cloud Computing technology in order to increase the efficiency of internal operational processes in the Government.
