Moldovan authorities and civil society co-creates a new Action Plan on Open Government

Starting today, the State Chancellery, together with civil society, the media, the academic community and other relevant actors will co-create an Action plan for Open Government for the period of 2019-2020.
In this regard, representatives of ministries and organizations of civil society have made an exchange of ideas, good practices, shared challenges and difficulties within a co-creation workshop held today, May 8, 2018.
Citizens ' access to all information held by public authorities, public participation in decision-making, collaboration between public bodies and citizens to implement the actions, including through partnerships and support citizens groups are three key principles based on Open Government. In this respect, the co-creation of the Action plan with the civil society, the media, the academic community will contribute to empowering the authorities to act and will ensure an effective implementation and evaluation.
The Action plan co-creation on Open Government is part of the commitment made by the Republic of Moldova in 2012, in his capacity as a country member of the Open Government Partnership. Because of public consultation, the plan will be approved by the Government in late August.
Co-creation workshop was organized by the State Chancellery, jointly with the Institute for Open Government and e-Governance Agency, in the context of the Open Governance Week (#OpenGovWeek) celebrated at international level. Thus, during the week of 7-11 May, over 76-member countries member of the Open Government Partnership will organize about 500 events aimed at discussing, sharing, inspiring, motivating, incentivizing key relevant stakeholders to think about ways governments can transform ways in which they serve their citizens.
