Librarians from all over the country – active users and promoters of electronic services

More than 70 librarians from all over the country, members of the Association of Librarians of the Republic of Moldova (ABRM), participated in the "Electronic services for everyone" information session held today, 15 June.
The event is part of the public information and digital literacy campaign "e-governance for everyone", launched by e-Governance Agency (EGA) and conducted in June. The event was organized by EGA in partnership with the Association of Librarians of the Republic of Moldova and was also available to the general public by being broadcast live on social media.
The beneficiaries talked about the importance of digital services, stressing the need for the training of all beneficiaries in order to learn, access and widely use electronic public platforms. The librarians wanted to learn more about e-services and improve their digital knowledge and skills in order to be active users of e-services, but also to be able to support library visitors who need assistance in using the services.
EGA experts Tatiana Sincovschi and Ion Budeci presented, in an accessible format, a set of basic information on the benefits of e-governance, the new platforms and products launched by EGA and the ways to access them, as well as the opportunities offered by the Government’s Electronic Payments Service (MPay). They also provided practical guidelines for using electronic payments and receiving social benefits online. The experts encouraged the participants to trust these services, to be active users and to apply the knowledge gained during the training in practice.
Victoria Vasilica, ABRM Executive Director, talked about how the pandemic has demonstrated the usefulness and the need for remote interaction, including online access to public services, while libraries, as cultural and information centres in the community, play an important role in promoting the opportunities offered by electronic platforms and providing information support to readers and visitors to the library. The participants were particularly interested in some e-services and asked questions, while requesting course information support and more materials for further promoting all the possibilities offered by e-governance.
The information and literacy campaign continues with new activities and events and we encourage you to be our allies and active fans of e-governance.
