On the International Day of Democracy, celebrated annually on 15 September, the e-Governance Agency announces that one of the basic objectives outlined in the Government Action Plan for 2021-2022 on Digital Transformation is the Development of e-democracy. This objective will be achieved by establishing a unified solution for consultations, surveys and fostering of the civic activism. One of the goals of the current Government is to promote the normative framework that will regulate the process of implementing a unified technological solution for sending, receiving and managing petitions.

Through its projects, EGA advocates for democracy, transparency, accessibility, participation and respect for human rights and values.

This year, the United Nations celebrates the International Day of Democracy 2021 with the theme: "Strengthening Democratic Resilience in the Face of Future Crises".
