The information technology regulatory framework is constantly updated

Moldova will have a Digital Code, systematizing and unifying information technology regulations and adjusting them according to the current requirements.
The continuous development of new technologies brings both opportunities and challenges for public institutions. The government, together with other authorities, is constantly seeking a balance between the benefits of the new IT ecosystem and the need for appropriate regulations, while creating an environment enabling innovation and investment.
The newest state electronic service is the Register of representative powers - MPower, launched by the e-Governance Agency during this week.
Our colleague Vadim Vintila, EGA’s legal consultant, gave an interview to Bizlaw.md portal, explaining the benefits provided by the new service to citizens, talking about how well developed the legal framework of public administration on the implementation of e-government services is in the Republic of Moldova and about what we should expect in the coming years in terms of e-governance.
"The MPower was designed to be used by both individuals, businesses and government authorities. By using the mpower.gov.md web portal, these subjects can issue representation powers, without needing the services of any third person, in a completely autonomous and free manner, to people who will act on their behalf to obtain a public service and, in the future, even a private service. In order to be granted a power of attorney, a person needs access to the Internet and a qualified electronic signature, issued by a trusted service provider, accredited in the Republic of Moldova.”
Vadim Vintila also explained to the potential users of the MPower service the ways to navigate and obtain the power of attorney, adding that Moldovan nationals abroad are one of the target groups of electronic public services and implicitly of the MPower. Therefore, this service can be accessed both in the country and abroad by any person holding a qualified electronic signature, issued by a trusted service provider accredited in the Republic of Moldova.
