Information campaign – secure online payments

Security and protection are key values this year, not only in terms of health, but also in terms of online interactions. Increased information security measures and more digital education can ensure better protection of personal data and confidential information provided by users of electronic services.
In this context, the e-Governance Agency (EGA) is launching today the Information Campaign on the security of online payments and the protection of confidential data. The campaign is organized in an interactive form, through an educational game on financial security, available on the platform of the Government Electronic Payment Service MPay (www.mpay.gov.md), in partnership with the Visa International Company.
Game participants can test their knowledge of digital financial security and can easily learn the basic rules of online security by becoming well-informed digital users. The virtual financial assistant is ready to interact with everyone who will access the game at: hhttps://education-bot-md.infocus.company/.
The awareness campaign aims to inform and educate the public on measures to protect against financial scammers on the Internet who act through various methods and channels to gain access to accounts and steal money by fraud.
“Take care of your money with Visa and MPay!” is the motto of the Campaign that will take place from 10 February to 10 April this year. For two months, we will inform the public about the latest tricks and methods of manipulation used by scammers through social engineering – a term referring to social network scams. We will also familiarize the public with other new concepts related to online scams, and with measures used to ensure increased protection of confidential data. During the campaign, the e-Governance Agency experts will provide useful tips to citizens and help them navigate safely, take advantage of opportunities in the complex online world, keep confidential data away from fraudsters, as well as useful information about online payments.
This event is part of the international community's celebration of Internet security in February (Safer Internet Day). This year, the worldwide events will take place under the motto "Together for a better Internet".
