The importance of geospatial data and maps within the e-Governance Transformation Agenda implementation
Today, the Center for Electronic Governance attended the e-Transformation Coordinators Council Meeting dedicated to the role of geospatial data and maps within the e-Governance Transformation Agenda implementation.
Also, the Meeting focused on success stories of applying Geo-referenced Information Systems, such as: the geo-referenced database of the Energy Efficiency Agency and the Web-GIS environmental portal of the Environment Ministry within the Public Administration.
During the meeting, a particular attention was paid to the Governance e-Transformation Agenda for 2014, the discussions at this subject were focused on the Government Interoperability Platform and on the Governmental e-Registers and e-Authorizations Platform (ECMP).
Note: Georeferencing is the process by which an image (map, satellite picture etc.) is assigned specific coordinates, so that any GIS program be able to correctly position it on the globe.
