THE GOVERNMENT INTELLIGENTLY INVESTS IN IT

Ministries and central administrative authorities, including their subordinate structures will be obliged to host new information systems on the common government technological platform, based on technology “Cloud Computing”. This was announced in the order of the Prime Minister, Vlad Filat.
“Cloud Computing” is a modern concept composed of computing services, applications, access to information and data storage. The user does not need to know the location and physical configuration of the systems providing these services when using “Cloud Computing”.
According to the Prime Minister's order, the e-Government Center and Special Telecommunications Center will develop, “within 9 months, the regulation on the efficient use and operation of the common government technological platform. Ministries and central administrative authorities will not allow for the creation of their own IT infrastructure and extension of their existing IT infrastructures. They will develop, jointly with the State Chancellery, plans of migration of existing information systems and will ensure the migration of existing information systems on the common government technological platform”.
