General News

This agreement is an important step in increasing the cyber security in Europe - one of the objectives of the EU security strategy, but also a cornerstone in efforts towards creating a single digital market.

The law states:

  • Each EU member state is obliged to have a national cyber security strategy
  • The Member States will share information  cyber risks
  • Service operators (providing such services as energy, transport, banking, healthcare and service providers of Cloud Computing) as well as search engines will adopt security measures and inform the authorities in case of a cyber-incident.

According to the 2015 survey, European citizens are concerned about cyber security: 89% of Internet users avoid disclosing personal information online. 85% of Europeans agree that the risk of becoming a victim of a cybercrime is growing.
