The e-Government Center supports modern management of water resources

Chișinau, October 22nd 2013. Today was presented the joint water use authorization platform model, initiated by the e-Government Center, which will allow a unique counter to deliver water use authorizations. The platform’s presentation took place on the occasion of the Water Law implementation, presenting the framework document that promotes a modern management of water resources.
The joint water use authorization platform represents an informatics system designed to manage reception procedures, process demands and issue environmental permits for special use of water. This was created in order to support the Compact Project.
Stela Mocanu, the director of e-Government Center, said that through this unique counter, natural and juridical persons will be able to submit online requests and will no longer have to deal with complicated, expensive and time consuming procedures, in order to obtain a water use authorization. The online shop will be available through the public services portal – www.servicii.gov.md – starting with March 2014.
The water law enters into force on 26th of October, current year, and will replace the 20 year old water code. The event was marked by the Millennium Challenge Account Moldova and the Ministry of Environment, with the participation of other international institutions offering support in implementing the Water Law.
