The e-Governance Agency of the Republic of Moldova shares its experience with public institutions in the Philippines

The achievements of the Republic of Moldova in the field of Governance e-Transformation and the priorities of the "Modernization of Government Services" Project, implemented with the support of the World Bank Group, were the main topics discussed in a webinar organized by the World Bank's International Finance Corporation (IFC), in partnership with the Public Institution “Electronic Governance Agency” (EGA).
Iurie Turcanu, EGA Director and Vlad Manoil, Head of Services and Platforms Department, presented the initiatives launched and implemented during 10 years of e-governance in the Republic of Moldova, while highlighting in particular the best practices and lessons learned in such areas as cloud computing infrastructure (MCloud) and data exchange (MConnect). Furthermore, emphasis was placed on internationally acclaimed projects. In this context, it was mentioned that the Republic of Moldova is among the first seven countries in the world to launch, in 2012, the e-service Mobile Digital Signature. Moldova distinguished itself as part of the Open Government Partnership and is currently one of the world's leaders in opening company data.
"The e-Governance Agency of Moldova is open for co-operation and experience sharing with partners from around the world. Today's event gives us an opportunity to establish new professional partnerships between the Republic of Moldova and the Philippines ", Iurie Turcanu mentioned.
In turn, the webinar participants noted the relevance of the topics discussed. "In the context of the global pandemic caused by the COVID19 virus, information technologies and electronic transformations of government processes and public services are imperative and absolutely indispensable for the citizens of the Philippines, and the experience of the Republic of Moldova in this regard is very relevant for us ", ERNESTO V. PEREZ, Deputy Director General of the Anti Red Tape Authority of the Philippines, specified.
The parties agreed to maintain a continuous dialogue in order to ensure the transfer of knowledge and best practices in achieving the objectives of modernization, diversification and raising the efficiency of public services provided to the citizens of both countries.
The Republic of Moldova has previously conducted experience sharing sessions with partners from European countries, such as Romania, Bulgaria, Malta, Poland, as well as from Central Asian and African countries.
