December 16, 2013, Chişinău – The Government, in partnership with the Civil Status Service and the Ministry of Justice launches three civil status electronic services. The launch of these services takes place in the context of e-transformation agenda whose primary goal is to provide quality services to citizens by using informational technologies.

Thus, citizens can request online: duplicates of the civil status documents, civil status extracts or civil status documents rectification or modification. The documents included in the three Civil Status e-Services are: birth certificate duplicate; marriage certificate duplicate; divorce certificate duplicate; death certificate duplicate; birth certificate extract; marriage certificate extract; divorce certificate extract; death certificate extract.

The Civil Status e-Services can be accessed on the governmental portal servicii.gov.md with the Mobile Signature or Digital Signature and can be paid through the governmental service for electronic payments MPay.

The digitizing of the Civil Status Archival Fund started on July 12, 2013. Within this project, approximately 4 million out of the total of 13 million civil status documents will be digitized.

Up to now, one million (1,000,000) civil status documents have been scanned.

The project of digitizing the archival fund of civil status documents enables faster and more qualitative public services, information exchange within the Civil Status Service, a more effective and safe data management, and a more qualitative storage of the civil status documents on paper .
