Center for Electronic Governance – an active presence within the 2014 ICT Summit

The Center for Electronic Governance has actively participated within the 5th Moldova ICT Summit. The event was held from May 14 to 15 and gathered “in the same place and time” the most important actors from the ICT sector, including representatives of the Government, entrepreneurs, international companies, specialists and academics.
During the 2-day session were addressed key issues such as: informational technologies’ applicability in various aspects of life (education, economics, etc.), ICT role in making the governance act more transparent and efficient, as well as opportunities and challenges faced by the ICT field in the Republic of Moldova.
Special attention was paid to the concept of interoperability and effective institutional communication. An entire session was dedicated to this subject and namely “Data Exchange and Interoperability for Smart Government” which has been headed by Iurie Turcanu, Chief Technology Officer at the e-Government Center. The interoperability platform which has been implemented by the Government was presented during this session as well.
Given the growing interest in non-cash payments and their technological component, MPay (governmental e-payments service) was another one of the noteworthy topics.
The ICT Summit is one of the most important technological event in the country held annually under the Ministry of Information Technology and Communication auspices. During the sessions, experts in the field and not only learn and share new techniques, unique practices and modalities to exploit all the opportunities offered by the information technologies.
