The best innovative e-Governance practices shared by Sri Lanka

During the period May 24 – 25, 2016, the Electronic Governance Centre, together with the MiLab team, participated within National Summit on Foresight & Innovation for Sustainable Human Development 2030 Now, an event that took place in Sri Lanka.
Within this summit, Cornelia Amihalachioae, Performance and Social Innovation Officer / EGC Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator, participated within a dialogue dedicated to Sri Lanka governance re-image process. EGC representative referred, in particular, to the innovation that the e-Governance brings to the progress of a country, as well as the advantages offered by electronic services. The representatives of Malaysia, Denmark and Armenia have been also involved within the discussion.
"The Summit is a platform for the public, private and civil society sector, which involved itself within a common dialogue. Therefore, we will together contribute to the sustainable development of the Sri Lanka island, of course supported by the international experts,” Fadhil Bakeer Markar, UNDP representative declared.
National Summit on Foresight & Innovation for Sustainable Human Development 2030 Now is at its first edition and aims to create the basis of a dialogue about innovation trends and innovation-related governance, as an additional provision of the traditional progress. In addition, the event proposes to plan a sustainable development so that Sri Lanka manage to complete the Development Agenda 2030.
In 2015, the UN member states adopted the Agenda for Sustainable Agenda – 2030, which includes a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in order to put an end to the poverty, to fight against the inequality and injustice and to settle the problems related to climate change until 2030.
