700 people received bonuses on their mobile phone balance for having paid public services by means of MPay

On January 5 ended the successful initiative encouraging electronic payments within the „MPay and VISA” partnership.

Thus, during 3 months, all the users who made minimum MDL 100 payments for public services by means of MPay (the Government electronic payment system) using their VISA card received bonuses of MDL 25 on their mobile phone balance.
Therefore, about 700 people were “repaid for efficiency” with about MDL 18 thousand bonuses.
The Initiative was financially supported by VISA and was actively promoted by Victoriabank.
The e-Government Centre shall continue negotiating with commercial banks and other stakeholders to conclude similar partnerships for the benefit of citizens and of the baking system, too.
The aim of this initiative was to encourage the use of cashless payments within the national efforts of population information and gradual replacement of cash use with electronic payments.
