A delegation of Republic of Moldova, including representatives of e-Government Center, Ministry of Information Technology and Communications and the Ministry of Finance met with USA’s Chief Information Officer, Mr. Vivek Kundra and Chief Technology Officer, Mr. Aneesh Chopra. The visit takes place within the framework of the Reverse Trade Mission organized by the US Trade Development Agency (USTDA).

During the meeting, the Moldovan team shared with Mr. Kundra and Mr. Chopra the key priorities and initiatives of the Moldova Governance e-Transformation Agenda, including the launch of the Open Government Data Portal and the set up of the Council of e-Transformation Coordinators and development of the government-shared infrastructure based on cloud computing technologies.

Vivek Kundra and Aneesh Chopra stressed the importance of core IT services and cyber security, recognized the immense opportunity that the Republic of Moldova has for leapfrogging due to small number of legacy systems and reiterated the support of USA for Moldova’s e-Transformation agenda.
