The e-Governance Agency will directly participate in the development of the Open Government Programme for the years 2021-2024. The initiative belongs to the State Chancellery, which launched the process of initiating the development of the programme. The representative of EGA in the Open Government Committee is Nina Catirev, a monitoring and evaluation specialist, who will provide her input to this document. The Committee is responsible for the coordination of the development and consultation of the National Action Plans for an Open Government, a commitment assumed by the Republic of Moldova as a member country of the Open Government Partnership.

The concept of the Programme is designed by the State Chancellery in accordance with the provisions of the Government Decision no. 386/2020 on the planning, drafting, approval, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of public policy documents.

The goal of the project is to strengthen transparent, accountable and efficient governance by improving decision-making, participatory processes and dialogue with citizens, and through it, the Government seeks to identify solutions to increase access to information, promote public sector transparency, ensure the fight against corruption and encourage citizen engagement in governance.

The role of EGA in this process is to provide modern governance solutions based on technologies, solutions to solve transparency issues, access to open data, quality public services, citizen engagement and other strategic priorities of the Government for the near future.

By approving and implementing the Programme, the Government of the Republic of Moldova reaffirms its commitments to comply with the basic principles of the Open Government Partnership. In this context, the State Chancellery issued a public announcement to the representatives of civil society, academia, the private sector, the media and independent experts, asking them to come up with proposals to this document.

Proposals and recommendations can be submitted until 14 May 2021 to Natalia Cristian, e-mail: natalia.cristian@gov.md
