During 11-15 February, the Government of the Republic of Moldova organizes for the first time the M-Cloud Week. The event agenda includes the official launch of the M-Cloud platform, debates on the impact of cloud technology over the quality of public services, meetings with youth, public officials and IT companies representatives.

The Cloud Computing is changing the traditional way how institutions function and offers the solution for the reorganization of an institution’s informational structure. The system allows to discard complicated software, which are different for each institution, with proprietary operating systems.

On 13 February, a Show Room was organized in the Government, entitled "Cloud Computing Solutions and Services for the Public Sector", within which seven IT companies (StarStorage, Provision, Huawei Technologies, Trimetrica/ESRI, Microsoft, Bina Systems, S&T) have presented Cloud Computing solutions for the public sector.

On the occasion of the M-Cloud Week, Francisco Garcia Moran, Director General for Informatics, DIGIT, of the European Commission, was in an official visit to the Republic of Moldova. The high European official had a meeting with Victor Bodiu, the Secretary General of the Government. They have discussed issues related to the implementation of the e-Transformation agenda and the use of the "M-Cloud" technology in the public sector, as well as the impact of this service on the quality of public services in the Republic of Moldova.

The officials have visited the Center for Special Telecommunications and the Government's data center, which hosts the "M-Cloud technological platform".

Another event from Wednesday, organized within the M-Cloud Week, was the round table with the topic "e-Governance agenda of the European Union". In this event, Francisco Garcia Moran, Director General for Informatics, DIGIT, of the European Commission, has presented to the e-Transformation coordinators, to representatives from Ministries and other governmental institutions the European Union's experience in the implementation of the e-Governance strategy in the public sector.
