As of 1 January, the commission for bank card payments through MPay decreased to 0.5%

As of 1 January 2020, the commission for card payments made through the Government e-Payment Service MPay decreased from 1.5% to 0.5% of the total transaction amount.
This decrease will be felt directly and positively as a saving by legal entities, who before the beginning of 2020 paid a commission of 1.5% for card payments processed through MPay, while the commission for individuals has always been covered by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova, since the launch of the Government e-Payment Service MPay in September 2013.
Indirectly, the positive effects of the lower commission will be felt more widely by different categories of population of the Republic of Moldova, given that, as of 1 January 2020, the Ministry of Finance will pay a smaller amount to cover the card payments made by individuals through MPay, thus having the opportunity to use the saved resources for other priority initiatives.
This success resulted from thorough and long-lasting negotiations between a number of actors involved in the operation and development of the MPay platform, a productive partnership with them and the openness of all parties to consensus, in order to finally provide additional benefits to #MPay users and other categories of Moldovan citizens. In this context, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our partners from the National Bank of Moldova, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova, Moldova-Agroindbank, Moldindconbank, Victoriabank, Visa and Mastercard.
The Government e-Payment Service MPay is a service that can be used by citizens, both individuals and legal entities, to pay for public services with any of the multitude of available tools: bank card, Internet banking, cash. The portal has been operational since September 2013 and currently Moldovan citizens can pay through it for over 250 public and private services.
