General News

November 25. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI) launched the Agricultural Information Centre, the institution that will coordinate the use and application of modern technologies in agriculture, the provision of quality services to farmers, the increase of quality of decisions, and the sector performance. Within the e-Agriculture Day event, MAIA’s representatives have also presented some of the priorities for the development of intelligent agriculture for 2014. Thus, the open data for innovation and entrepreneurship in agriculture, the use of GIS (geospatial data) and mobile technologies are priority issues for the ministry. For 2014, it is planned the launching of the governmental platform for e-Registers and e-Authorizations (ECMP) and two electronic services: e-AIPA and e-ANSA.

E-AIPA service implies evidence, integration, management and control of the files submitted for subvention by the farmers at the Agency of intervention and payments for agriculture. The e-ANSA service means import-export supervision management in the context of ensuring the sanitary and phytosanitary requirements. These e-governance projects will improve the quality of the services provided by MAIA for business in the agriculture and food industry.

MAIA is among the leaders in the public sector in the field of e-transformation, the ministry being the first central public authority to have migrated part of the informational systems on the MCloud platform and to have integrated the public services provided for farmers with the MPay service.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry is determined to use modern technologies in order to facilitate the e-Transformation of the Sector and provide an Intelligent Agriculture, competitive and prosperous farmer.
