Governance e-Transformation Agenda – in the spotlight of the World Bank experts

The e-Transformation project of the governance of republic of Moldova is the main topic discussed within meeting held by the World Bank director, Alex Kremer, Secretary General of the Government, Tudor Copaci and Executive Director of e-Government Centre, Iurie Turcanu. 

During the meeting, the three representatives discussed following steps that need to be implemented in order to improve the efficiency of e-Government infrastructure and public services. In turn, Alex Kremer declared that the World Bank will continue to support the e-Transformation project inasmuch as the implementation of electronic services will ensure transparent and efficient governance. 

At the same time, the Secretary General of the Government expressed his gratitude towards World Bank, for supporting the implementation of several development projects of Republic of Moldova, as well as for his interest to further support the objectives of the State Chancellery concerning the digitization of public services. 

„It is important to have a close cooperation with the World Bank experts in order to successfully realise the projects we started together with extern partners to develop the electronic services in our country”, stated Tudor Copaci, the Secretary General of the Government.

It is to mention that during the period of February 11-17, 2016, the Wold Bank experts are in a special visit to Chisinau in order to analyse the progress in project implementation. Previously, the World Bank representatives held another assessment meeting with the state institutions that joined the Governance e-Transformation Agenda of Republic of Moldova and the EGC representatives.

According to the National Survey 2015, the citizens of Republic of Moldova perceive the Governance e-Transformation as an important reform for the society, 79% of respondents stated that they support the e-Transformation. The Governance e-Transformation projects are funded by the World Bank and the Republic of Moldova Government. Subsequently, the State Chancellery aims to implement intelligent projects within information technologies in the public sector of Republic of Moldova.
