M-Cloud
Cloud computing changes the traditional way in which institutions operate, and provides the reorganization solution for an institution's information structure. The system enables renunciation of complex softwares, different for each institution, with closed operating systems.
By using Cloud technology, many institutions use common applications stored in a single data center. In order to access them, the public official only has to connect the internet wire. It's just like using email. There is no need for servers and storage. It just requires a technical team to make the servers work. To use an application under Cloud, the public official just has to log in, customize the account and operate with the data. The institutions can benefit from a wide variety of cloud applications, including custom applications.
The government has put into operation the common technology platform, known as the M –Cloud, in order to improve IT service consumption expenditure. The "M -Cloud" platform capitalizes on government spending and consolidates data centers in a joint management form. Thus, the costs are significantly reduced, the officials’ work becomes more efficient and ultimately generates quality public services.
The common technology platform M-Cloud was launched within the international seminar "Promoting Efficiency and Innovation in Government through Cloud Computing Technologies". With the launch of the platform, the M-Cloud Week was organized, during February 11th to 15th, 2013, an event that included discussions about the impact of cloud technology on the quality of public services, meetings with youngsters, civil servants and representatives of IT companies.
The M-Cloud Platform brought Moldova the international award for "Best Cloud Project in Central & Eastern Europe".
