The Republic of Moldova joined the Open Government Partnership [3]

[6] A delegation from the Republic of Moldova participates on 17 and 18 April at the first annual meeting of the Open Government Partnership which takes place in Brazil. Our country is represented at the forum by the Secretary General of the Government, Victor Bodiu, executive director of the e-Government Center, Stela Mocan and the coordinator of Open Data of the e-Government Center, Irina Tisacova. Representatives from over 50 countries participate in the meeting including the President of Brazil Rousseff  Dilma, the Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The delegates discuss the plans regarding the government opening to citizens.

[7]

The Secretary General of the Government, Victor Bodiu, presented at the forum the Action Plan of the Moldovan Government for an Open Government. Our country focuses its efforts to apply three large objectives: enhancing public integrity, making efficient the management of public resources and improving public services.

Unlike other global meetings, world leaders are accompanied by representatives of NGOs and of ICT companies. All are equal partners in this global initiative.

Open Governance fundamentally changes the way we live and govern and offer solutions to problems faced by

countries around the world. New technologies increase the access to information, promote transparency in governance, ensure the fight against corruption, citizens' participation in the governance and greatly improve public services.

The Partnership for Open Government means action! Governments should work closely with civil society organizations to take further steps to openness. If public data are of poor quality, or are not made available quickly enough, then this must be challenged. Courage is required, as new data will reflect fairly positive or negative way in which public services are provided.

The Government of the Republic of Moldova undersigned this initiative and thus entered the century of openness!
