Digital transformation experience sharing between Chisinau and Bucharest [3]
The delegation of the e-Governance Agency, led by Iurie Turcanu, Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization, made a working visit to Bucharest today, 10 September. The visit followed the invitation from the President of the Romanian Digitalization Authority, Octavian Oprea.
The purpose of the meeting is to initiate an exchange of experience and good practices between the Romanian Digitalization Authority (ADR) and the e-Governance Agency of the Republic of Moldova (EGA).
The parties discussed the possibility of drafting a bilateral cooperation agenda, the initiation of activities of common interest in the field of digitalization, in particular on the development of digital solutions compatible with EU standards and requirements, the modernization of public services, in particular the population documentation services, as well as alignment with the European framework for Identification, Authentication and Trust Services (e-IDAS).
Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Turcanu expressed his confidence that such exchanges of experience can be a means of accelerating the digitalization process in the two countries, and in addition to the benefits the application of technology in the Government can offer, the relations between the two counterpart institutions and between the two neighbouring states will intensify for the common good.
With over 11 years of experience in e-governance, the Republic of Moldova has a solid digital infrastructure, an advanced e-governance system and a package of reliable digital solutions, expertise that it has shared with the Romanian colleagues. In their turn, the e-governance experts from Romania appreciated the successes of our country in providing electronic public services and the objectives set by the current Government in this area.
The delegation included EGA’s Director Olga Tumuruc, EGA’s Government’s Digitalization Coordinator Vlad Manoil and the EGA’s expert Sergiu Bedros. It has been the first study visit abroad by the Deputy Prime Minister for Digitalization since the beginning of his term of office.
The working visit of the Moldovan delegation takes place under the Memorandum of Understanding signed on 28 June 2011 between the Government of Romania and the Government of the Republic of Moldova in the field of communications and information technology.
