Digital governance in the focus of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova [3]

Government data and interoperability platforms are present on the Parliament’s agenda these days.  On Friday, 27 November 2020, the legislator approved in the final reading the draft amendment to some regulations, according to which public service providers must not request various types of additional documents from citizens or representatives of businesses if the data contained therein is available in information resources and can be provided through the MConnect interoperability platform. The document implies the optimization of public services in the following areas: real estate, construction and urban planning, documentation, finance, taxes and fees, social benefits, health and transport.

It happens one year after another related event - the launch by the e-Governance Agency (EGA) of the modernized Government Data Portal (date.gov.md), a one-stop desk for public sector data, which facilitates access to different types of data held by public authorities, including those of public interest, the viewing or obtaining of which requires authorized access and legal grounds. The facility expanded the opportunities for interaction between government institutions, including through the Government Interoperability Platform (MConnect).

The process of modernizing and improving government data and interoperability platforms is ongoing. The developments, the benefits and the opportunities provided to users are discussed during this week of the communication campaign dedicated to the 10 years of e-Governance in the Republic of Moldova with the message "e-Governance is Enthusiastic!".

We will present the team responsible for the functionality of government data and interoperability platforms, but we will also debunk some myths surrounding these digital resources.

The traditional LIVE event with the e-Governance Agency can be watched live on Tuesday, 1 December 2020, at 10.00, by accessing the following communication channels:
