
The campaign on open data continues: long-term impact of opening data among central authorities [3]
In the week of 17-21 April 2018 was held the second round of information visits to public institutions on necessity to update and promote open data. This time, the representatives of the State Chancellery and the e-Government Center went to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment and Ministry of Home Affairs.
Discussions were focused on the need to update the data on the open data Government Portal date.gov.md, to review data sets according to the citizens’ recommendations reported within polls released and official demands addressed to the institutions.
Publishing interesting data for journalists, NGO sector, business environment, as well as for the public, public institutions will be closer to citizens ' needs, and young developers will be able to co-create digital solutions on certain social problems. In the context of visits, Centre for e-Government experts have explained the need to ensure the access to information based on the public interest, the legal and technical aspects of open data and exchange data sets by creating web applications. Also, they were referred to the journalistic potential in accessing such information and long-term impact of culture opening data among central authorities.
The meeting was attended also by subordinated institutions such as Medicines and Medical Devices Agency, Public Health Agency, the National Health Insurance Company, National Social Insurance House, Investment and Payments in Agriculture Agency, Regional Development Agencies, General Police Inspectorate, Border Police, General Inspectorate for Emergency situations and the Bureau of Migration and Asylum.
The ' pilgrimage (information visits) to central public authorities are part of the information campaign “Do you know what is doing your Government?” aimed to promote and increase the access to the open data.
