The Benchmarking Visit Uganda [3]

During 1st- 4th of November the eGovernment Center Moldova is hosting a delegation from National Information Technology Authority from Uganda. The Benchmarking Visit is organized by the World Bank and eGovernment Center Moldova (on behalf of Government of Moldova).

National IT Development Authority of Uganda is the implementation agency for World Bank financed Regional Communications Infrastructure project (RCIP), NITA-U is headed by James Saaka.

The proposed visit is part of the knowledge exchange and twinning program between eGovernment Centers of Moldova and Uganda that was launched by the World Bank.

The visit started at World Bank Office with a presentation focused on the perspective of eGovernance Transformation in Moldova. The delegation also met the Secretary General of the Government.

Ms. Lilia Palii has mentioned: “I am sure that this exchange will provide an invaluable opportunity for networking and fruitful contacts between our countries. Government of Republic of Moldova is opened to develop further development collaboration with Uganda, especially for improving the Government’s efficiency and transparency through e-Governance. Moldova’s main focus for the next 4 years is the modernization, diversification and streamlining the public services offered to citizens.”

The Agenda included sessions with State Enterprises Center for Special Telecommunication, and private sector.

 

 “We hope Moldova’s experience in digital transformation will be helpful for National Information Technology Authority in implementing your new eGovernment strategy and preparing digital development projects for funding by World Bank and other donors. We believe there is much to learn in terms of practical implementation of all elements to shared government platform, including e-Payment gateway, cloud, interoperability platforms, e-services, etc.”, concluded Iurie Turcanu, the Executive Director of eGovernment Center Moldova.
